Ardana and Abby

Our China Journey

Thursday, May 03, 2007

We received the acceptance letter today along with other paperwork. A couple things I noticed is that she was brought to the orphanage on October 16th, 2006, she has been in the orphanage since she was 5 days old. The report also says she eats 5 times a day. Her primary diet is Nengdojian milk based formula mixed with Huaishan rice-based formula to make milk cereal. They do not reference any other foods except under supplements they list cod liver oil.

We received 3 new pictures of her today as well. The 1st picture she is sitting up in a red chair and the other 2 she is laying on her stomach. In the pictures she has at least 2 layers of clothes. We did not get a chance to scan the pictures today I will post them tomorrow.

I am thinking about not sending the disposable cameras I bought to send in Abby's care package the letter we received from CCAI says the Guangdong province will not take pictures. I think I will give the cameras to Dana and let her take some pictures of her sister on Gotcha day. The other contents in my care package are a blanket, dora doll, picture book with our pictures in them. I am going to go to the store and by some color rings or links since they say Abby enjoys playing with them and some candy for the Nannys. I am going to post another picture of Dana since I love to post pictures.

Rhonda, I would go ahead and send the disposable cameras to the orphanage. When we adopted Sophie we too were told that her orphanage doesn't take photos. I still sent 2 cameras, and they used both of them and now I have two rolls of Sophie taken at the orphanage. I think you should still send the cameras but also get Dana one for Gotcha Day.
