Ardana and Abby

Our China Journey

Tuesday, May 29, 2007

We are still waiting on our TA from China. Tomorrow May 30th will be 4 weeks since we received our referral. We received our visas back in the mail last week. This week I am hoping to get our suitcases out and start packing. We are all getting a little anxious about knowing our travel dates. We wish we could leave tomorrow.

Ardana was a flower girl in my sister Cyndi's wedding on the 19th of May. She did really well throwing the flower petals before the bride walk down on the aisle. She was the life of the party, she danced and ran around until after midnight at the reception. Ardana then curled up on her dad's shoulder and out like a light in about 2 minutes. We all had a really great time. I have posted a picture of Dana getting her hair done before the wedding.

Today we decided to change Abby's middle name. Her new name is Abigail Lin Pace.
Lin in Chinese means beautiful jade. We turned this into CCAI today. We are currently waiting on travel notices it has been 2 weeks since our referral. I am thinking the TA will come the week of May 28th that will be 4 weeks after our referral.

Today we got on our 1st travel call with CCAI. We sent out today our Travel Packet II information back to CCAI and also sent our Visa applications along with our passports back to JC travel. We had to send Dana's Chinese passport to them as well. The Chinese consulate has to stamp it as in invalid passport. Dana's Chinese passport did not expire until September 2009. It really brought back a lot of memories looking at the baby picture of Dana on her Chinese passport.

The care package went out on Tuesday to Abby. She should have it by next Wednesday or Thursday. Dana and I went shopping tonight we picked up a rubber duck that blows up for the bathtub that we will take to China and a touch and feel book to take with us. We keep plugging along at the shopping.

Today May 7 we received travel packet II. This packet included applications for our Visa, travel companion forms, and travel guidelines. We have to go get our passport pictures taken for our Visas since we have not done that yet. We will do that this Friday and send in our visa applications to JC Travel. I always get nervous sending our passports along with the Visa applications. The care package did not go out today I didn't get a chance to go to the post office. I revised my care package contents blanket, rattle, Dora doll, candy for the nannies, 1 disposable camera, and sleeper outfit for Abby.

We received the acceptance letter today along with other paperwork. A couple things I noticed is that she was brought to the orphanage on October 16th, 2006, she has been in the orphanage since she was 5 days old. The report also says she eats 5 times a day. Her primary diet is Nengdojian milk based formula mixed with Huaishan rice-based formula to make milk cereal. They do not reference any other foods except under supplements they list cod liver oil.

We received 3 new pictures of her today as well. The 1st picture she is sitting up in a red chair and the other 2 she is laying on her stomach. In the pictures she has at least 2 layers of clothes. We did not get a chance to scan the pictures today I will post them tomorrow.

I am thinking about not sending the disposable cameras I bought to send in Abby's care package the letter we received from CCAI says the Guangdong province will not take pictures. I think I will give the cameras to Dana and let her take some pictures of her sister on Gotcha day. The other contents in my care package are a blanket, dora doll, picture book with our pictures in them. I am going to go to the store and by some color rings or links since they say Abby enjoys playing with them and some candy for the Nannys. I am going to post another picture of Dana since I love to post pictures.
